A New Futurist Cookbook, Allan Wexler and Michael Yarinsky
A New Futurist Cookbook reimagines F. T. Marinetti’s 1932 Futurist Cookbook for the present day. Conceived by artist Allan Wexler and interdisciplinary designer Michael Yarinsky, the project draws inspiration from the original’s provocative energy, experimental spirit and multi-sensory focus, while radically reorienting these methods toward contemporary concerns.
The book brings together diverse creators to explore pressing questions of our time—how food can foster inclusivity, generate new forms of connection and elevate eating into an intellectual, spiritual and narrative act.
The project is grounded in practice as well as concept: the works gathered here emerged from a series of ten dinner events, each designed as a performative exploration of food, ritual and imagination. These dinners functioned as laboratories—testing ideas, staging encounters and sparking dialogue that directly inform the content and structure of the book.
Simultaneously visual, informative and absurd, A New Futurist Cookbook positions food as a medium for imagination and cultural transformation.
